AFCU is a voluntary, nonprofit, cooperative association of individuals sharing a community bond as defined by our field of membership. Each member is an owner of the Credit Union and is entitled to a single vote regarding the business of the Credit Union. The credit union was established in June 1960 as St. Francis Xavier Acushnet Federal Credit Union. As of September 14th 1967, St. Francis Xavier Acushnet Federal Credit Union was officially known as Acushnet Federal Credit Union
