Aventa Credit Union is a member-owned not-for-profit financial institution. Established in 1957, Aventa was charted as Colorado Springs Public Utilities Credit Union to serve the employees of Colorado Springs Utilities. In 2017, Aventa expanded its field of membership to now serve the counties of Alamosa, Chaffee, Custer, El Paso, Fremont, Huerfano, Pueblo, Saguache and Teller. Anyone who lives, works, worships or goes to school in these counties may join. As of March 2019, Aventa currently serves over 26,000 members with the majority in Colorado Springs, Pueblo and the San Luis Valley. Aventa's member demographics range from local government employees, educators, and city retirees to small business owners and agricultural workers.
